Meet Our Founder, President & CEO MAI VANG

Mai Vang, a Minneapolis, MN native, was born and raised to Hmong Immigrant parents. Her journey in the fashion industry began in April 2022 when she embarked on a career as a runway model, swiftly earning a coveted spot at Fashion Week MN. However, Mai's aspirations didn't stop there. In September 2022, she founded Mai Business Inc., driven by her passion to mentor, coach, and inspire individuals aspiring to enter the modeling industry.

Determined to make an impact, Mai joined Black Business Enterprises in July 2022, collaborating closely with industry expert Nancy Korsah on various projects, including the Black Business Ball and initiatives under Black Business Enterprises. Notably, since 2023, Mai has served on the nomination committee for the esteemed Black Business Ball.

Transitioning from modeling to mentoring, Mai's multifaceted skill set soon became evident. From talent scouting to business consulting, marketing, event coordination, and project management, she demonstrated a remarkable ability to excel in diverse roles. Mai's mantra, rooted in resilience and faith, is to confront fear head-on and never allow it to hinder her progress. She firmly believes that the only limitations are those we impose upon ourselves and encourages others to persevere, even in the face of rejection.

In her capacity as a runway model, Mai's career has taken her across three states within the span of a year—New York, California, and Atlanta. Notably, in the previous year alone, she traveled six times to participate in prestigious fashion events such as NYFW, Atlanta FW, and Bovtiqve FW.

Mai Business Inc., founded in September 2022, is more than just a business venture—it's a commitment to serving the community and uplifting those around her. Through mentorship programs, fashion show coordination, and motivational initiatives, Mai endeavors to empower individuals to embrace their unique talents and pursue their passions. Collaborating with local businesses in the Twin Cities, including Franchise Box, Inspired Colors By Latrice, Black Business Enterprises and Evolve Fashions By Coco, Mai Business Inc. is dedicated to fostering growth and opportunity within the community.
